Gaffino | Merlot 'Tubbo' 2019 | 88 | The Cantina Gaffino 2019 Merlot Tubbo is a darkly saturated and succulent wine that is packed tight with lots of primary fruit ranging from dark cherry and blackberry to plum and soft spice. This is a rich, medium-bodied wine to pair with one of my favorite dishes: bucatini all'amatriciana with extra guanciale(pork jowl). The grapes are sourced from a two-hectare site with volcanic-clay soils. Production is 6700 bottles. | |
