Showing the name of the grape in German and in Italian, the Cantina Kaltern 2021 Alto Adige Blauburgunder Pinot Nero opens to a medium garnet color and aromas of forest berry, wild plum, rose, iron ore and lavender essence. This shows the characteristic fragrancy of the grape followed by a medium build and slightly more concentration in this warm vintage. It ages in a combination of large oak cask and cement for five months. This is an ample 95,000-bottle release, and you get great value.
