The Cantina Kaltern 2021 Alto Adige Chardonnay Saleit strikes good balance, showing both elegance and intensity. The bouquet exhibits preserved lemon, honey, ripe peach, yellow rose and vanilla biscuit. This medium-bodied white offers the volume and length to pair with white meat or shellfish. Salty minerality drives the dry and linear finish. This is a 40,000-bottle release.

The Cantina Kaltern 2020 Alto Adige Chardonnay Saleit offers underlined primary fruit intensity with orchard fruit, nectarine, lemon zest and a touch of warm custard cream that gives more depth and complexity to the bouquet. The mid-weight approach on offer here gives the wine extra dimension and enables it to wrap smoothly over the palate. This release of about 40,000 bottles would be terrific with a baked, breaded cod.
