Degani
Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2009

Of Degani's two Amarone wines, this one offers a leaner consistency and brighter aromas of wild berry, white cherry, dried rose petal, cola and apple cider. It's a clean, polished expression, with freshness on the finish

Aged three years in large oak casks, this pretty Amarone offers youthful berry notes set against sophisticated tones of toast and smoke. The wine is extremely smooth, soft and supple on the long finish

Dark red. Reduced aromas of dark plum and cracked black pepper complicated by earth and porcini. Smooth, sweet and nicely balanced, with peppery red fruit flavors that linger impressively on the back end. It seems to me that this wine has a good dose of residual sugar but also enough acidity to come across as fairly dry. A little more complexity and I would have scored it even higher
